Changing babies is a time of individual communication and exchange. It is also a privileged moment of well being for the baby.

"The day I decided to use my potty"
Hello, my name is Max. I’ll soon be 2 years old. Do you want to know a part of my story? I thought so! Well, I'll tell it to you then!
Mom and dad placed a small pot in the bathroom. Every evening when I come back from the nursery, they ask me if I want to pee in it. As I am a little scared, I don't dare get too close.
The next few days, at the nursery, the nursery teachers also suggested that I go and have a wee in the small toilet, but again I was afraid. I preferred to go and play with my friends. And then, why does everyone suggest that I go pee somewhere other than my diaper??? I don’t get it…
Je n’y comprends rien… Et pourtant, j’ai vraiment le sentiment que cela leur ferait vraiment plaisir, si je le faisais dans leur machin chouette 🙂.
One morning at the nursery, I saw my friend Léa, rushing to the bathroom and I followed her.
I saw and heard her pee in that famous toilet. She was really happy about it. I wanted to do like her and suddenly I asked Mélissa to take off my diaper to go pee.
Strangely surprised, she looked at me with a big smile and pulled it away. I found it easy to sit on it, but I couldn't pee.
In the evening, when my mother came to pick me up, Mélissa told her about my adventure with the little toilet. They all smiled, looking at me, yet I hadn't done anything in it.
When I got home, I showed mom that I could also go on the potty.
The following days it was the same. I went to the small toilet. I was more motivated when I saw my girlfriend Léa go there. And then one day, I managed to pee; everyone was happy about it.
At home, I got into the habit of peeing in my potty in the morning when I wake up and in the evening when I get home before taking my bath.
One morning at the nursery, my nursery teachers suggested that my parents take my diaper off at home all weekend. They wanted to make sure I could stay clean. That weekend, I passed the test and since then I don't wear a diaper even in the nursery. How happy I am with my progress. I am proud of myself.
And even if the making poo-poo took a bit longer, it still ended up showing the tip of its nose straight into the small pot. And if, at times, I happen to have another accident, well that's ok!
